Mad About Style {The Muse}: J. Crew's Jenna Lyons

Wednesday, November 12

Ninety percent of my closet consists of J. Crew, so it shouldn't come as any surprise that I am a Jenna Lyons fangirl.  Her style is amazing not to mention attainable.  Who doesn't have the pieces in their closet to recreate this look.

'Mad About Style': Zoe Saldana in Calvin Klein and Nina Dobrev in Thakoon

Tuesday, May 7

Both of these ladies are rocking the heck out of the mid-drift baring trend.  I love how they balanced a risque look on top with very conservative look on the bottom with longer A-line skirts.

'Mad' About Style: Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen

Friday, March 30

I came across this photo while I was browsing Olsens Anonymous and my mouth literally flew open.  Aside from the contrast in black and white I find the make-up on both of them to be flawless.  I love the bold eye with the nude lip, it screams effortless glam. Also loving the hair, one with the beachy waves and the other with the slicked back bun is perfection!! I am borderline obsessing over the beauty details in this photo and am tempted to try this as a signature look this summer.

'Mad' About Style: Rooney Mara in Givenchy

Wednesday, February 29

I am really loving Rooney Mara in this Givenchy gown for the Oscars.  Rooney has been making very bold red carpet moves to go with her drastic makeover for the Stieg Larsson Trilogy movies she will  be filming, starting with this winter's The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.  I have yet to see a look on her that I don't love. I am also loving the hair and makeup.  She has a very unorthodox cut so it isn't much she can do with it and I guess in this case less is more.

'Mad About Style: Chloe Moretz in Christopher Kane

Wednesday, August 24

I have mentioned before my adoration for Chloe Moretz here, but I really love her in this colorful Christopher Kane Resort 2012 number.  I am loving the high-low hem and the look is not overwhelmingly mature and it suits her well.

'Mad' About Style: Solange Knowles in Dolce and Gabbana

Simply amazing.  So many details.  These Dolce and Gabbana leggings are just gorgeous.  I am not a fan of wearing leggings without significant amounts of layering with them but Solange pulled the look off here with the menswear tuxedo blazer and classic button up collar shirt.  I love that she added the leopard shoulder bag.  This is definitely something I would wear, in my case I would toughen it up with a pair of boots but I understand it is the middle of July.

'Mad' About Style: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Red Carpet Style Profile

Tuesday, June 28

It is no secret that Victoria Secret Model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is my favorite model (her and Freja Beja Erichsen are in my top 2 in no particular order).  So you guys know I am super excited about her role in the new Transformers movie.  Also Rosie has red carpet style that will blow your mind.  Check out some of her looks from the movie's press appearances and premieres.

'Mad' About Style: Emma Watson in Marchesa & Notte by Marchesa

Sunday, June 12

I have mentioned previously that Emma Watson is one of my celebrity style muses along with Rachel Bilson.  Emma sure does love her short hemlines and I honestly can't blame her with those gorgeous legs.  She looks amazing in these Marchesa & Notte by Marchesa dresses.

'Mad' About Style: Kelly Rowland in Badgley Mischka Couture

Saturday, May 14

If only I was a bit taller I would be on the Maxi dress trend (midi dresses are more appropriate for shorter physiques).  Anyway I love singer Kelly Rowland in this Badgley Mischka Couture Maxi Dress even though she didn't accessorize the look properly.  The choker type necklace with a halter top along with the hoops makes everything look really congested around her neck.  Instead I would've opted for stacked bangles on the arms in lieu of the choker and hoop earrings.

'Mad' About Style: Blake Lively in Chanel Couture for the Met Gala

Wednesday, May 4

How can I not post about Blake Lively at a major red carpet event, if you didn't know by now she is most definitely my glamour style muse.  Blake knows how to do celebrity red carpet events and she never misses.  Of course she is in Chanel as Karl Lagerfeld's muse and face of the new Mademoiselle handbag campaign would we expect anything else.

'Mad' About Style: Imani Damali Corsets

Thursday, April 21

I absolutely love Imani Damali's designs.  Her Corsets are just right for the summer ladies with all of the rich jewel tones and colors.  Each Corset is custom made ensuring that no one would ever own the exact same one.  In my discussions with Imani she states that "all corsets are handmade from fabric imported from Ghana West Africa to the customer's specific measurement".  Ladies I guarantee you won't find anything like this anywhere. How often are you able to walk into a boutique or department store and buy a garment that was designed ONLY for you?  The starting price range for the corsets are $250.  Not bad considering the time and resources that go into making one of these custom pieces.

Imani also does customized themed corsets like the one pictured above.  This piece is called "Sweets and Treats" and starts at a price of $150.  If you would like to see more of Imani's designs head over to her online store at www.ImaniDamali.com to check out more of her amazing collections.

absolutely love what a printed pattern does for a garment, gives this skirt so much more texture

'Mad' About Style: Michelle Obama in Alexander McQueen

Friday, January 21

This is a gorgeous gown from Alexander McQueen's Resort 2011 Collection.  A very daring piece for a state dinner with China's President Hu Jintao.
