When winterizing a summer piece like this skirt, layering is very important. Here I chose a layering technique of short over long over short. I chose a long knit vest to layer over the short skirt and under the short blazer. Mixing different lengths and textures helps to add more weight to a thinner piece such as this skirt.
Wearing a thicker tight serves a more functional purpose than a fashionable one. Luckily I owned a pair that went well with this ensemble. I am pretty partial to opaque tights in the colder months because they are a bit thicker. Also ribbed tights give more texture and weight as well. Booties are always my go to shoe when I am trying to ground a more feminine piece such as this floral skirt.
