Don't Call it a Comeback: The Chris Brown Saga

Saturday, July 3

I am a Chris Brown fan and have been since he first hit the scene.  Words can not express how happy I am over his BET performance.  I would have posted this sooner but I wanted to wait for some of the drama to die down.  There are several reasons why I want to write this post, one being the fact that BET let Chris down in so many ways it was only fitting that they allowed him his moment. While mainstream media was dropping this guy left and right and everyone and their mama were being judge and jury, the one outlet that should have been behind him is Black Entertainment Television.  This Michael Jackson tribute was a year too late, Chris should have been allowed to do his thing and honor his idol like everyone else, instead he was ostracized and cast out.  That emotion you guys saw out there was genuine and real, no acting, anyone who has been following Chris knows exactly how hard this guy has had it the past year.  He has been more than emotional on a couple of occasions as he begged and pleaded with fans to help him get his career back.  That moment on that stage as he tried to sing "Man in the Mirror" was everything summed up for him and I am so happy that he got to do this in front of his peers.  So don't call it a comeback, take it from a true Breezy fan, he never went anywhere.

SIDEBAR: Not condoning domestic violence just saying it was not our place to punish that man, the justice system did its job and its time for us to let it go and move forward and let the young man live his life.
